Starting Windows in "Safe" mode
Windows '95
When you see the message "starting windows "95" press the F8 key (you only have 2 seconds to press the key)
Windows '98
Windows '98 doesn't give you the "starting windows" message. Start your computer and then press and hold the CTRL key until the Microsoft Windows '98 Startup Menu appears.
For some machines, you can use F8 instead of CTRL to bring up the Microsoft Windows '98 Startup menu.
