Speed up your CD-ROM drive
With the release of DOS 6.2, SmartDrive can finally cache CD-ROM drives. SmartDrive won’t cache your CD-ROM drive unless it knows your computer has one. Make sure the line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file containing the Microsoft CD-ROM driver, MSCDEX.EXE, appears before the line containing SmartDrive.
